MyVampFiction is calling all book lovers!

MVF is launching a contest in conjunction with our Grand Opening.  It will run for two months, from October 31^st through December 31^st, so even those of you who are just discovering the site for the first time will have plenty of time to get involved!

Here is what you do:

First, sign up for our forums, aptly titled the MyVampFiction “Lair.”  You can do that by Clicking Here.

Second, read and discuss your favorite books.

It’s really that easy!

Take some time to get acquainted with our Lair.  Some of the most popular Vampire book series have already been set up with categories and threads.  If you don’t see your favorite books series, don’t fret!  Simply email any one of us using the Contact Us page, or you can send us a private message through the forums, and we will set up a thread for your book recommendation.  There are also several different books and book series listed in the “General” category as well, so don’t forget to take a look in that section.

The administrators of MyVampFiction love the Twilight Saga, but through the Twilight fandom, we have also discovered some amazing books and series’ that we want to share and discuss with you!  Our goal for this contest is to get everyone reading, in turn reminding us all what first drew us to the Twilight Saga: the books.  There is no better way to stretch your imagination than by reading.  So, head to your local library or the bookstore and pick out some new vamp books, then come tell us what you think of them.

What is the prize, you ask?  In honor of our love for books, we are giving the winner a $40 gift card to Barnes & Noble!

Here are the Rules:

-The MVF contest will run for 2 months: October 31^st, 2009 through December 31^st, 2009

-Member must be registered in the MyVampFiction discussion forums, also known as “the Lair.”  You can register by Clicking Here.

-Member is awarded points based on the forum categories and threads they post in.

• 3 points for every Book Related thread, including character discussion threads

example:  Dead Until Dark, Dark Lover, Marked, Vampire Diaries: The Awakening

• 2 points for every TV or Movie Related Thread

example:  True Blood Season 1, Vampire Diaries episode 6

• 1 point for every General Discussion thread

example:  General House of Night discussion thread

-All posts MUST contribute to the conversation.  Posts that say simply “I agree” or “he’s hot,” or anything similar that does not contribute to the conversation will not be eligible.

-During the first week of January, we will tally each member’s points.  The member with the most points will win a $40 Barnes & Noble gift card.  In the event of a tie, one member will be selected at random.

-The following threads are not eligible (ie: member will not be awarded points for posts in the following threads)

• Twilight  & Twilight-related threads
• Fan Fiction & Fan Fiction related threads
• General Conversation, Fan Made Art, Ask Pappy & Staff Introduction Threads

** All book/TV/Movie threads under the General Conversation Category are eligible

• Game threads

example:  House of Night Favorites game, BDB Shellans Favorites Game

There is no need to keep track of your own posts; we will do all of the work for you.  All you have to do is read and discuss!  We can’t wait to see what you have to say about some of our favorite books, and we are looking forward to discovering some new books and series as well.
