Rosemarie Hathaway
by SarahBella
Rose is a student at St. Vladimirs, the Vampire Academy. She is a Dhampir, a special type of vampire and was essentially bred for the life she now lives – protecting Vasilisa Dragomir at all costs. Lissa is Rose’s best friend, and a Moroi princess, the last of the Dragomirs.
Rose was essentially abandoned by her mother at a young age, and never knew her father. The cold, clinical academy is the only life she’s ever known. Rose is gutsier than most of the boys her age and loyal to a fault. She was also kind enough to sit down for an interview with me before she left on her quest to find Dimitri.
SB – So, Rose, thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy day to join me.
Rose – You’re very welcome. I always try to make time for the fans.
SB- We’ll get right down to business today since I know you have pressing plans. My first question is this; What was the final piece of the puzzle when you and Lissa decided to leave St. Dragimirs?
Rose- Really, it was just a matter of listening to my gut. Lissa was perpetually afraid; we’d overheard conversations that weren’t meant for us. We didn’t have all the answers, but that’s probably a good thing, because if we’d know the whole time that it was her uncle, he probably would have just grabbed her and we weren’t equipped to deal with him then.
SB- Once you were back in school, you had some trouble assimilating. Do you have any advice for kids starting a new school.
Rose – Oh, sure, absolutely. Be yourself, no matter what. If you have to change who you are to make friends, you won’t be any happier than you were before you made friends. **wags finger scoldingly**
SB – You and Christian made an unbelievable team fighting the Striogi. Did that change the way you view him?
Rose – Really, my views on Christian have been slowly changing since he started hanging out with Lis. I mean, if she likes him, he can’t be all bad, right? That fight, it took guts. I can kinda maybe see what Lissa see’s in him. **winks**
SB- Speaking of love interests, what about you and Masen? DO you think that if you’d had the opportunity you could have been a couple?
Rose- Masen and I were destined to be great friends. I don’t think there was any way we could have worked out as a couple. Best friends with benefits, definitely; that boy could kiss.
SB- I know the loss is still fresh, but how are you dealing with Masen’s death?
Rose – Masen’s death is something that will always weigh on my conscience. I think I’ll always feel like I could have, and should have, saved him. But I know that he went down the way he would’ve wanted to. Fighting. And I’m going to keep on fighting. For him, for Dimitri…
SB- And, I have to ask, because everyone wants to know, how was the Dimitri lovin’?
Rose -Amazing, absolutely amazing. Nothing will ever compare to him. I think that’s what I’ll miss the most! **laughs**
SB- It’s good you can remember him positively and joke.
Rose – He wouldn’t want me to wallow. I made a promise to him and it’s time for me to follow through. If the only way for me to get through the coming months is to remember what it was like making love to him, then I guess I’ll just have to suffer through it! **Winks again**
SB - Well, with that visual, I’m going to let you get on your way. Thanks so much for sitting down with me today.
Rose - No problem. And quit thinking about Dimitri’s butt. Oh, and just so you know, you have my full permission to turn that story I told you earlier into a fanfic.
SB- Really? Thanks! **turns to audience** That one’s gonna be NC-17!
Aw, that was awesome. I’m glad I have the first book on my bookshelf. I am going to be reading it soon after your interview!
