From the Horses Mouth
Apparently, I started something with my post on Monday.
First, I need to say, I was in no way talking about the Gazebo. I have never heard of the Gazebo.
Secondly, maybe I need to change the beginning of my feature, but I have explained in the past that our top five list is just that. Our top five. They write fics that we all enjoy.
I want to apologize to the authors on my top five list for the added stress this has undoubtedly added to you. When I mentioned the top five having cliques, I didn’t mean it in a negative way. I wholly support them needing a ‘clique’. Cliques aren’t always bad; that was not what I intended to convey.
That said, I’ll be pulling my top five list from future articles. My intent when starting this column was to point out how difficult it can be for new authors to break into the fandom and to show how awesome the fandom can be.
While I knew it was likely, it was not my intent to offend or anger people. I was merely trying to shed light to a subject that needs attention.
Yes, perhaps I was inflammatory and mean. I called them ‘jealous’, ‘insecure’ and said that they were likely ‘not very good writers’. In hind sight, that was no better than what they do. But I am woman enough to admit that it was inappropriate.
All in all, folks, I’m not sorry I wrote the article.

I agree with Megsly wholeheartedly.
It shows a lot of integrity that all of the owners of the site have come forward and addressed the situation rather than refusing to post the comments and respond.
I support you Sarah! Fortunately I have been following since day one and I am still in love with MVF.
I personally think you did nothing wrong and that people took things a little too literally and looked to deep into the idea, finding alternate meanings in your words and misconstruing your intentions. But that aside, I do highly respect you for coming out and apologizing and trying to make amends and speaking to those that were offended in such a manner. So thank you <3
