There are several stories on my favorites list that haven't been updated in what seems like forever. Some, the authors have left explainations, others, not a word. I've been very lucky to not have gotten sucked into a story that went unfinished. I do, however, wait impatiently between chapters of my favorite stories. I can't imagine if they just ended in the middle. I would be pained. I really admire fan fiction authors for providing us with so much entertainment for very little tangible return. I hope that if I ever find myself addicted to an orphaned story that I can remember that the authors do this out of the goodness of their hearts and accept what I've read as the gift it is.
