So wow… What an interesting weekend. Drama, drama, drama. So I let it be my inspiration this week and went back to the stories I read when I first found the Twilight fandom… before all the drama. I dove into my favorites looking for the completed fics that turned me into a Twi-Hard. So if you are under 18 go find your warm fuzzies elsewhere because there are smut filled recs ahead.

These are in no particular order and are just randomly pulled from my list.

The only way to start this is with one of the best writers I’ve had the pleasure to get to know, my beta, Pastiche Pen. She never fails to astound me. She puts so much thought into her stories that even the page breaks match the story. And for some of the greatest teen smut you’ll ever read, you have to check out her story The Nymph and the Waterfall. It’s awkward when it needs to be and loving at the same time. Also, when you are on her page check out some of her one-shots, they will have you bustin’ a gut.

Now when it comes to slash I have to give it up to All I Ever Knew by manyafandom. And while it’s technically not completed, I’ve been reading it since ’08 and it is by far my favorite. Jasper’s inner dialogue is hilarious as he tries to figure out if he is really gay. My favorite lemon is in this one as well and it’s actually more lime than a lemon if you can believe that.

Okay, here is one you have to get to before it gets pulled down, So Obvious by lipsmacked. It’s AH with some amazing Jake/ Rosalie action. Yes! I said Jake/ Rosalie! I squealed when I heard Rosalie’s pet name for Jake. Totally hot… Well if you’re into that kind of thing. ;) The story also has Jake/ Nessie, Nessie/ Rosalie, and Jake/ Nessie/ Rosalie. Whew…

Bittersweet Symphony by I’mwiththevampires08 also known as  Imwiththevampiresofcourse . One of the few Bella/ Edward fics I’ve read. This one is also not complete but was started in ’08 as well. It’s man-whore Edward giving sex lessons to virgin Bella. Throw in some very open-minded Cullens, and you have one fucktabulous story.

Last but not least, the Trip Home by mskathy. A poly story that has Bella black-out, the sex is so intense. It’s also a great love story. Other than the amazing mind-blowing lemons, I found it really interesting not only to see how they deal with telling others, but how they manage their feelings when one or the other is not there.

So there are my top 5 picks– wait no… I mean some of my favorite old-skool fics.

Me: How did you find fanfiction?

D: I think like almost everyone else, the fade to black scenes in BD were so terribly unsatisfying that I went looking for more Twilight to fill that hole. So I guess you can say I came for the smut, but stayed for the stories.

Me: What inspired A Litany at Dusk?

D: I love canon Edward, but he’s just a little too much the gentlemen.  I’m writing it because I wanted to see and Edward with a little bit more vampire in him, darker, more out of control, more powerful and willing to use that power.

Me: I talked about my fave completed fics this week. Do you have any fics in your list that you go back an reread?

D: I am ashamed to admit how little fanfic reading I have actually done. I don’t like to read other fics when I am writing  because I have enough trouble just keeping my own vision clear. So now not a whole lot of re-reading.

Me: What is the one fic you think everyone should read?

D: I think Ithaca is Gorges by Giselle-x is the epitome of what fanfiction can be. It’s canon, it fits in perfectly with the Saga and is so exquisitely written.  There are lots of great fanfics out there but that one just blows me away.

Me: What fics are you reading now?

D: I am in mid-read of The Fallout by OCDIndeed. It’s great Post-Apocalypse story I am really enjoying. You don’t see too much sci-fi crossover in Twfic, surprisingly. Guilty pleasure? The Training.

Me: What are you reading outside of fan fiction?

D: I just finished ‘The Lovely Bones’ and thought that it was a great story. I wonder how the movie that just came out of that is going to portray the book, I hear its getting panned by the critics. I have been trying for several weeks to get into ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ and just can’t get into that style of writing. I’ll never be an Austen fan, I’m afraid.

Me: What is the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

D: Well, probably if they’ve read the first few chapters of Litany, its just how unreligious I am.

Me: I’m sure you know what comes next. (Insert evil laugh here…)

Out of all the vamp fandoms, who are your three favorite humans?

D: Humans, Huh? Cause I would do most of the vamps easily. Hmm, I don’t know that many vamp fandoms outside of Twilight, SVM and Anne Rice, so I’d have to say Chief Swan, Jason Stackhouse and LaFayette.

Me: Now of those three which would you marry, fuck, and kill. And why.

D: Well, Charlie Swan is a shoo-in for the marrying kind, Jason Stackhouse obviously knows his way around a woman’s body, so Lafayette, although you are a hottie in True Blood, I’m afraid you’re getting the ax!
