Fan Fic Friday – MuffNbutter

Normally on Fan Fic Friday, I try to feature two or three different stories.  This week, I’m still reccing two stories, but they have the same author- MuffNbutter.   The first of the two fics is the one that I fell in love with first.  It’s called ‘My Beloved Window‘.

‘My Beloved Window’ is a PG-13 fic about Human Bella moving to Forks, Washington.  She’s surprised to find that there’s a family living in the house across the street from her father and even more surprised when she catches a glimpse of the beautiful people living there.  The story is an incredibly sweet supposition of what would happen if shy Bella and awkward Edward had bedroom windows facing one another.

The chapters initially follow a similar course to Twilight, but when they begin to diverge, the real fun begins.  The entire cast of Twilight is present, and remarkably in character, which only adds to the fun.  I love the way Jacob’s character plays into the final result.  Of course Charlie pushes Bella toward him, and she unfailingly refuses his advances.

There are moments in the story, where you can so clearly put yourself into Bella or Edward’s place, and those are part of what makes it such a great read.  It’s very real in the feeling cycle it portrays – the insecurity, the awkwardness, the self doubt – all things that everyone who’s ever been a teenager can relate to.

Then, you can’t help but cheer when Bella and Edward finally start to realize that they might not be alone in their attraction to one another and I can honestly say that this fic has one of my all time favorite first kisses in it.  I love almost any (well-written) fic with a ‘Sweet First Time Love’ theme, but this one really takes the cake.

It’s well-written, realistic, relatable and most importantly, fun.  I love every moment I spend reading it and it’s truly one of my most highly anticipated favorites.  This fic definitely deserves 5 out of 5 fangs.

The other MuffNbutter fic I’m reccing today, is ‘Two Weeks‘.  This is another AU/AH fic starring the entire cast of Twilight.  It’s rated NC-17- and not for violence.

In this fic, suave, smooth Edward stole Bella’s heart years ago, in high school.  The close-knit group of friends- Bella, Edward, Jacob, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Jessica, Lauren, Mike, Emmett and Rosalie- spend two weeks at the summer home of Carlisle and Esme, under their supervision, nine years after their high school graduation.   The group has drifted apart, and they want to strengthen ties.

Bella has convinced herself that she’s through pining for Edward, right up until he flashes her that panty-dropping smile of his.  To further complicate things, Bella and Jacob have had a ‘no strings attached’ agreement, which Bella suddenly realizes has strings for Jacob.  She lets him down gently – as gently as she can considering they’re vacationing together for two weeks and sets her sights on not letting Edward turn her into a bumbling idiot every time he looks her way.

The rest of the cast is excellent in terms of keeping the story moving and they provide a lot of humor.   Then there’s the problem of who’s rooming with whom, because mostly, they aren’t married yet.  Bella has to choose between sharing with Emmett and Edward, or sharing with Jake.  There’s also a very interesting side story involving Emmett and Rosalie, but I’m not giving that away just yet.

I can’t wait to see where the story goes!  Pick it up now and follow along with me!  This one too, gets 5 out of 5 fangs!
