When Damon Met Faith
Have you ever wondered what would happen if vampire Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries met vampire slayer Faith Lehane from Buffy? If your answer involves Damon falling prey to Faith’s slayer skills…well…you would be wrong. Cue our very own Jules and her second round of Wicked Wednesdays!
Oh, and lest I forget our all important disclaimer, this post is only appropriate for readers old enough to buy porn. In this week’s edition of Wicked Wednesday’s, Jules gives us her take on “When Damon Met Faith” and serves up the second chapter of the steamy Salvatore and the Slayer. Let me tell you, this chapter is not for the weak of heart. Her lemons will have your blood racing and your pulse booming. Damon and Faith might not be the most likely couple, but let’s just say their sexual chemistry is undeniable.
I recently sat down to talk to Jules to chat about her fic, lemons, and why Damon and Faith make a perfect couple.
Saluki: What inspired you to write SatS?
Jules: I originally wrote SatS because I felt out of all the crossover potentials out there; it seemed to me that the Buffyverse and Vampire Diaries universe meshed really well together. Not only that, I wanted to challenge myself to write something non-Twi (though my heart remains in Twiland). Damon had a thing for brunettes and he and Faith kind of have similar attitudes -which I thought would make for a fiery hot combination.
Saluki: What made you decide to continue with SatS?
Jules: In my head, Faith and Damon were never really done with each other – they had a magnetism that couldn’t be ignored, as much as either of them might want to ignore it. So, I decided (under their influence) to reunite them.
Saluki: I love Damon and Faith’s banter. You’ve said that writing dialogue can be a challenge, but you did an amazing job of nailing their personalities and the dialogue is spot on. The way the goad each other and use sarcasm to cover their true feelings is perfect.
Jules: *Blushing* Damon is more of a challenge than Faith, mostly because I haven’t read the Vampire Diaries and I’ve only had one season to get to know the Salvatore brothers. Faith, however, feels really natural to write; I always loved her sass and her take no shit attitude and it’s fun to play with the idea that Damon, a vampire, would be her Achilles heel.
Saluki: I’ve watched your progression writing lemons and have to say that you’ve really upped the ante with this chapter. Do you feel more comfortable writing lemons than you have in the past?
Jules: Definitely. At first I was really very timid and afraid to write anything beyond an “R” type rating, even hiding behind the safety of my penname. But after delving deeper into the world of fic and reading series like the Black Dagger Brotherhood, I realized that I shouldn’t fear putting something like this out there because there is definitely a desire for this type of content.
Saluki: I think one of the steamiest parts of the chapter for me was the whole fight scene; it’s so erotic. Damon licking the blood off Faith’s mouth is just crazy hot.
Jules: Yeah, I sort of envisioned them having a fight when they met back up – both of them seem to get off on that kind of thing and then I just thought, well, I’m sure one of them would have a knee jerk reaction and blood would be spilled and…cue the sexy licking.
Saluki: And the whole sex at the gym thing seems them – gritty and raw.
Jules: wanted to take them out of the bedroom because they don’t strike me as a lay down in bed and screw kind of couple, even though their first encounter was in a bed.
Saluki: well, that first encounter, it was so important for Faith to have things on her territory. She needed the control, or at least that’s the impression I got.
Jules: Yes, Faith always wants control, problem is, so does Damon.
Saluki: That’s part of what makes them so combustible. They are like matches and gasoline.
Jules: Exactly – they don’t spark, they explode.
Saluki: I find it so ironic that Damon’s perfect match is a vampire slayer.
Jules: Perfect match you say?
Saluki: really think so. They are so much alike. Faith is almost the female version of Damon.
Jules: Bingo! It’s one of those situations where they don’t know how to separate – they are magnetized to each other.
Saluki: I think that’s one of the reasons I want to see you continue the story. I want to see how they deal with things when they start to realize there is more between them than just hot sex. Because as much as they would deny it, think they each give each other something emotionally they can’t get anywhere else.
Jules: There definitely is more…the more I explore them, the more I realize that. Faith is reluctant…she doesn’t want to be another Buffy, falling for vamps at every turn. But she hadn’t met the likes of Damon.
Saluki: So, do you foresee continuing SatS? I would love to see you explore the emotional side of their relationship.
Jules: I’m not going to lie, I LOVE writing Faith and Damon. I think there is potential for me to further their story in the future, but for now I’m dedicated to finishing my not so wicked multi-chapter fic. I guess my official answer is maybe, leaning towards likely.

I have another fic to read! I loved Faith in Buffy. She was troubled and she was tough, but she had a compass. She just had trouble following it sometimes. I think a pairing between her and Damon is a perfect idea! Thanks, Jules! More reading.
