Shari79 was the winner of our “Vampire Diaries Fanfiction Challenge” that we hosted back in March.  We are a little bit late getting this interview out, but we hope you enjoy getting to know Shari79 a little bit more.  Make sure to check out her winning entry, Desirable Hunger, and leave her some review love!

1) How did you discover Fan Fiction in general?

Well, I guess I will have to let the cat out of the bag after all this time…LOL!! But, I discovered fan fiction in 2003 at a Clay Aiken(American Idol) fan site. Don’t laugh, I had tons of fun reading and writing about him. LOL!

2) We know you write Vampire Diaries fic, but do you write fan fiction for any other books or TV series?

I’ve never written about anyone other than Clay Aiken before, but when I started writing fan fiction about the Vampire Diaries, it was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. I love the characters so much. They are easy to manipulate into whatever I want them to be, with the exception of keeping them somewhat the same.

3) Are your characters based more on the Television series or the books by LJ Smith?

The television series. It’s only because I’m ashamed to say I am only half way through the Fury…shhh, don’t tell. LOL!!

4) Easy question: Stefan or Damon?

Damon! I love the bad boy in him, even though, according to the TV show right now, he’s been such a good boy compared to Stefan…

5) Do you have any favorites in the vampire or paranormal fiction genre? Do you have any book recommendations for us?

Of course since I love the vampire genre, I’m all about The Twilight Saga, I think Stephenie Meyer did a wonderful job at opening up this world to everyone again. Also, I admire the writings of L.J. Smith’s The Vampire Diaries, even though I’m not completely finished with them. But, I think L.J. Smith’s writings are a bit more in depth and maybe a little more believable than Stephenie Meyer.

6) What fan fics are you reading right now? Do you have any favorites?

Well, over at another site that I go to, I have been reading a story called Georgia on My Mind, it’s a Damon/Elena pairing, and her writing is really fantastic.

7) Are you currently working on any other projects?

I am. I’m working on a Damon/Elena story called You Know You Crave A Little. It’s about Damon wanting what his little brother has, knowing he can have it even if she refuses.

8) Anything else you would like to share with us to help us get to know you better?

Well, I’m a 31 year old wife and Mommy. I love my life and enjoy being with my family. I enjoy the time I get to spend alone, creating and working on fan fictions that I like. My usual motto is Life is SO good… Thank you for allowing me this chance to enter this amazing contest and I’m so thrilled about winning. Thanks to everyone who voted! I can’t believe I won out of the great stories that were listed. Thanks again.
