Vamp on Vamp

This week, Megsly got wicked with it and is treating us to some Demetri (of the Volturi) fire.  And when I say fire, I mean inferno.  She’s paired him up with  the original character of Bianca, also a vampire, and the result is quite explosive. Release is quite the appropriate title, if I do say so myself.

I got to chatting with her about her story, its inspirations and writing lemons in general.  Before you click in, please check your ID and if you can’t use it to legally purchase porn, then please look elsewhere, this is not for you.

Jules: So when you first started writing fan fic…it was pretty much citrusless, right?

Meg: Absolutely no citrus haha, I was afraid of the lemon. Wouldn’t even read a lemon, to be honest.

Jules: Well, damn, woman every lemon you’ve written has sent my lady bits into a frenzy! What inspired you to delve into the lemons?

Meg I actually toyed with lemons with a friend of mine and started to write a fairy tale fic that was meant as nothing more than giggly fun, and when we stopped writing that I had become friends with Susan and she’d introduced me to the hotness of Demetri and Felix, which lead to my first real lemon.

Jules: So, do you get flustered, hot & bothered when writing them?

Meg: Yeah, I’ve walked away from writing them before because my mind gets wayyyy too dirty for me to feel comfortable with. I’m a perv at heart, but sometimes when my mind starts to wander down a smutty road, I shock myself and have to run away or something of the sort. I embarrass really easy, so that played into it as well because as i was writing my first lemon, I was sending teasers to friends and then immediately going, “OMG I’m such a whore for writing that!” and running away in shame.

Jules: Hahahaha – you aren’t a whore. The more I write lemons, the more comfortable I become but damn, your descriptions are crisp and luscious. So – I know who your characters were inspired by, what about the plot of Release? Where did you come up with the idea?

Meg: Actually, I don’t even really remember. I was plotting with Susan over various routes we could take with Bianca’s story, and I knew that I wanted it to be set a bit in the past and that it absolutely had to be vampires, because I just can’t write out of canon. I don’t remember what made me think of it, but some how I found myself on Wikipedia looking up the Chicago Syndicate and the history of the mob boss Giancana, and I based the plot around that, toying with the idea of how the Volturi amass their fortunes and duh…of course they’d be involved in the Italian Mafia. But as far as where the urge to write mafia related vamp fic came from? I have no clue…haha

Jules: Well, I loved the era it was set in and Bianca’s fierce characterization. And, personally, I really enjoyed the fact that it was two vampires going at it. It was ferociously hot! So, your citrusy submissions so far have been Volturi-centric. Any other genres or characters you would like to explore in this way from the vampire/paranormal genre!?

Meg: Vampire sex is hot, just saying. Hehe. I’ve fiddled slightly with Bella/Edward lemons in Boxing the Compass but I just can’t write them in a sexual situation..it just…seems wrong to me. I guess because I’m such a canon writer in FF that I can’t deviate from how chaste their relationship was. It’s just weird to write it, even though I can read it alllllllllll day long. I’m sure I’ll have smut in some of my original fiction, and ya know, there’s this one OC/Edward fic I’ve been playing through my mind that might end up being relatively smutty….

Jules: NO…it almost feels wrong for you to do that to Edward

Meg: Also, now this may be weird because I haven’t actually read much True Blood fic yet, but I kinda wanna write an Eric slash fic, I just don’t know who I’d pair him with haha.

Yeah, I’ve just started reading some TB fanfic – I’ve enjoyed it so far

Meg: I absolutely cannot write Bella in sex. I just can’t. It’s sad. After last Sunday’s episode of TB, yeah…I was inspired for FF. I’ve done it…but not graphic style but I definitely enjoy reading Bella sex. I think, since writing Volturi fic, that I’ve deviated sooo far from main characters

Jules: What you have done with the Volturi is HOT, HOT, HOT. For old, cold MF’ers

Meg: hahahaha, I need to go back and read now

Jules: Are there any no-noes in lemon writing for you?

Meg: Actually, no, I don’t think I have any no-noes other than the obvious no rape, no sex between minors…you get my drift. I think I’d be fine writing fem slash, slash, obviously the butt sex is no issue (hello, Tre.) I don’t mind writing rough sex, as you can tell by Release, and I think as long as it’s obvious that it is clearly between two consenting adults, is not abusive or illegal and is written tastefully (as in, not simply for shock value, as a few trending fics seem to be) then I’m fine with it and would have no problem writing it.

Jules: What has been your favorite pairing (of the citrus variety) in a fic you have read?

Meg: I just read a one shot by winterstale called The Request and it’s a Emmett/Kate/Rosalie AH pairing, where Kate and Emmett are married, and Rosalie is Emmett’s best friend, and Emmett is a Dom. Omg… Dommett…  He makes my lady bits happy…that’s probably TMI, but it’s the truth. As of right now, that is my favorite pairing ever.

Jules: Okay, name three vampires/paranormal characters from three different series…

Meg: Eric from TB, Emmett from Twilight, and Balthazar from Evernight.

Jules: You know what’s coming, right?

Meg: Yes…and I just realized I fucked myself hahaha

Jules: Okay who would you M/K/F?

Meg: I was originally gonna say Marry Emmett (duh…), Kill Balthazar, and Fuck Eric….but then I realized I kinda wanna fuck Balthazar and kill Eric….. Wait…I think I need to go check my temperature, I may be sick…hahahaha

Jules: giggle – I think that answer works! What, in your opinion as the writer, sets this lemon apart?

Meg: I think in a lot of stories, and in Breaking Dawn, we get hints as to how ferociously vampires mate and how wildly passionate their relationships can be, but we never actually see just how feral the acts can be and I think that I kinda did justice to their wild nature in bringing these two characters together. It’s not a fluffy, happy piece and it’s certainly not run of the mill vanilla sex between these two but it is very passionate. It was definitely a story I had to walk away from writing a few times because I was getting flustered hahaha.

me: Yeah, it’s pounding good fun!

And now it’s time for you to go ahead and read Release. Wednesdays have never been so wicked.
