What Do You Mean by Changed, by Cedward

We kicked off Monday with our newest staff writer, Sassy, giving us his take on Tara Thornton from True Blood.
This girl has some issues…
I mean first she has her coo-coo for cocoa puffs alcoholic mother. She was in love with Jason Stackhouse. She had an ongoing sexual relationship with her boss Sam Merlotte. She had an exorcism performed on her and she ended up in jail for drunk driving.
Then she gets sprung by someone that is supposed to be a social worker, who ends up brain washing her and makes her eat human heart in the middle of some orgy in her best friends house, all to summon some god.
And that’s just the first two seasons!

On Monday, Saluki also reviewed “The Vampire Shrink,” by Linda Hildburn.
Imagine for a second that you are a psychologist, just minding your practice and living a normal life. Then one day, a girl claiming to want to become a vampire comes into your office because her parents are worried about her mental health. You, being a normal, rational person, understand that vampires
don’t exist. That is just the assumption that Kismet Knight made the day Midnight walked into her office.
From that day forward, the routine life of Kismet would never be the same. At first, she continued to believe that Midnight was being seduced and brainwashed by someone in the vampire culture. Finding out there were more people like Midnight sparked Kismet’s interest. Perhaps she could make a nitche by treating vampire wanna-be’s. She could do research, get published, and maybe even write a book. It doesn’t take Dr. Kismet Knight long to become known as the Vampire Shrink.

On Tuesday, Susan wrote a loving tribute to her Grandma Stella, who recently passed away.
Today is a very odd day for my column. Normally I try to keep my column dedicated to the genre or fan fiction or something of the sort. Today I’m going in a different direction and doing a tribute.
My grandmother, Stella, is probably the most amazing woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. This woman lived through the Great Depression, World War II, The Sexual Revolution, Vietnam and Korean conflicts, the 80′s, 9/11…she has seen so many things in her life. She was a strong Christian woman who, if it weren’t for her, my faith would have dried up a long time ago. She was an amazing mother who took care of her children while her husband was fighting in the South Pacific. She was frugal yet generous, and she never met a stranger.

TinyDancer93 was our guest author for “Wicked Wednesday” this week. Her submission, entitled “What the Night Brings,” is a steamy encounter between Tanya and Edward.
She kissed me heavily, cutting my words out from under me. I began struggling, trying to push her back, but as her hands pressed harder into my chest and her lips became more heated against mine, my guard began slipping until I wasn’t fighting it anymore.
Feelings that I had tucked away deep inside of me for decades now were fluttering forth, and it scared me to no end.
Primal human need.
I felt her hips against mine, her smooth leg wrapping around my own tucked inside my trousers, her hands snaking up around my neck, pulling at my hair, and her tongue slip out of her mouth, sliding into mine.
She moaned before breaking the kiss and turning to me with large eyes. I was panting, which seemed silly for someone who didn’t need to breathe, but I couldn’t stop.
I had never kissed a girl before. Well, at least not in my vampire life, and I didn’t remember from my previous life. What I did know, however, is how much stronger vampire senses were than human, and how every small touch, sound, movement was far more intense than it would be for a human.
“Let me be the one to give you happiness, Edward,” she whispered, running her hands down her sides slowly, mesmerizing me.

We also had quite the treat on Wednesday, as Jules interviewed Edward, aka “Ryeward” from Mac’s fic “Coming Through the Rye.”
For the record: When Edward walked in I seriously saw stars and thought I was going to faint. I couldn’t help my eyes drift below the waistline and I must say, even from my quick glance I can tell you ladies the legend of BK is absolutely real. Thank goodness Mac was there – she cleared her throat and made sure I didn’t make a fool of myself with the gawking. Without further ado, I give you Ryeward.
me: What’s your libation of choice because, I’m buying! You might need it to answer a few of these questions…
Edward: I’m drinking a pint o’ Murphys, lass
me: It’s on me…ready to do this?
Edward: Aye
me: Alright, first things first: When did you first realize you had feelings for Bella? And how could you not consider that she would have feelings for you? It’s not like she could come out and tell you since you were basically with Senna throughout the course of your friendship.
Remember, readers asked these questions…don’t kill the messenger
Edward: Er, weel, I’ve always thought Bella was quite bonny. From the first we were guid friends. Whit’s nae tae like? She’s gorgeous an’ fun tae be aroond. Not tae mention I can talk aboot shinty and rugby wi’ her, and she ken whit she’s talking aboot.

On Thursday, we wished our very own SarahBella a very Happy Birthday.
We also heard from Meesh about her obsession with the Brothers from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
So what have I been thinking about for the past few weeks? I guess I wouldn’t so much call it “thinking about” as I would say obsessing over.
The Brothers. *sigh* For weeks, I have been thinking about these fictional characters constantly. In addition to thinking about them during my work day, and when I’m sitting at the computer at night, I talk about them with other Brother addicts. I recruit new addicts. I write about them, in emails and in this column. It’s as if my brain doesn’t care that they aren’t real. Technically all those actors we fantasize about aren’t real either – they’re made up characters, taught to carefully play their parts in front of the fans. Or at least that’s the justification I use to ease my troubled soul. You know, when I start to worry that this obsession is unhealthy.
As far as vices go, mine isn’t so bad, is it? I don’t miss work. I’m not ruining my health. I’ve made lots of very good friends who are as obsessed as I am. So what is the danger, the harm?
