Everyone needs a sassy friend, and MyVampFiction is lucky to have met ours recently. Sassy will be discussing everything from books to TV to hot men and women and more! Sassy will be appearing every other Monday and sometimes in between if we are lucky.

So, without further adieu, I give you…

Hello Darlings, and welcome to Sassy Says.

Lets just take a moment to have a little chat about a certain hot mess character from True Blood.

Tara Thornton.

Just as a warning, there will be some spoilers, so if you aren’t caught up on True Blood, you may not want to go any further.

This girl has some issues…

I mean first she has her coo-coo for cocoa puffs alcoholic mother. She was in love with Jason Stackhouse. She had an ongoing sexual relationship with her boss Sam Merlotte. She had an exorcism performed on her and she ended up in jail for drunk driving.

Then she gets sprung by someone that is supposed to be a social worker, who ends up brain washing her and makes her eat human heart in the middle of some orgy in her best friends house, all to summon some god.

And that’s just the first two seasons!

This season of True Blood has been the worst for my favorite hot mess.

Our sweet Tara has literally gone through hell. She watched the man she had intense feelings for die. She ends up shacking up with some weirdo Vampire she meets at Merlotte’s who turns out to be as emotionally fubar-ed as a person can get. This dude seriously enthralls and kidnaps her and takes her all the way to Mississippi. Then he ties her up and puts her in this horrid looking old ass nightgown; I’m talking like, “I have the vapors, Miss Sookie” old. She agrees to marry him, and he is so happy but for whatever reason, he doesn’t trust her, so still he leaves her all tied up.

Now this is where it gets good. Girl finally tricks him into letting her bite him, so she gets all hopped up on V. He falls asleep, and she sneaks over to his freaking bedroom arsenal, takes his mace and beats his head into a pulp. BEATS HIS HEAD. WITH A MACE. Let me just tell you, I was in shock. I sat there on my couch with my eyes wide and my mouth open as I watched her do that.

All this from a character that that in the Southern Vampire Mystery book series is almost non-existent. A friend of Sookie’s from high school and an overall really minor character.

But, True Blood wouldn’t be what it is without her. I’m really hoping this girl gets a break in the rest of the season. With the past few relationships she’s had, she could use it! And for goodness sakes, please make her listen to Lafayette. He knows what’s best for her.

Tara Thornton, you are a hot mess. One that I love every more and more each week.
