Read-Along: The Hunger Games

THG cover The Hunger Games is the first book in a trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Last week, the much awaited final installment, Mockingjay, was released and our MVF twitter feed literally exploded! I finally asked around about it, and was given the rundown about the series and it’s basic premise. Of course, I downloaded it to my new eReader and today I decided to bust it out.

I’ve just started the book, and I am pretty much sucked in. I can’t wait to read more about Katniss and Peeta. But there is so much going on in each page, that I don’t know that I could ever simply review the book. So, I decided to share my reading experience, and I’m inviting you on a read-along.

So, if you’d like to join me, I’ll be reading each chapter and posting a brief run-down. I’ll tell you what’s going on and what I thought about it, and invite you to leave your feedback in the comments section. I hope you decided to check out this book with me! If you would like to participate and leave a chapter commentary or review, feel free to email me at Susan@myvampfiction.com.  Be on the lookout for the first mini-review and commentary next week!

This is an amazing series. It’s at the top of my list as far as complete series go, beating out Twilights and Harry Potter. There was never a moment in any of the books, especially the last one, I felt gypped or disappointed. It’s a full, well balanced series that has you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

I hope you love it just as mush as the Sass and I do!

  2. I’m definitely going to join in. I’ve heard so many great things about this series, and I’m excited to be able to discuss it with other people just reading it for the first time, or people who just want to re-read it because it was so good the first time!

Perhaps we can do some chatzy discussions…

I promise you will NOT be disappointed. It’s one of those books you have to force yourself to put down. I’m already halfway through…

  4. I almost picked up these books the other day, but managed to refrain myself. Don’t ask me how because when it comes to books I have like zero willpower….

Maybe I’ll have to give in to the temptation the next time I’m passing by my favorite haunt: Barnes N Noble. ;)
