What’s on Sue’s Bookshelf?

I’ve got a bajillion books on my TBR list (that’s “to be read” for those who don’t know all the acronyms). So, I’m sharing a few that I have on my Nook all queued up and ready to go:
The Music of Chaos, by P. Kirby:
Albuquerque, New Mexico is home to a small population of demons, fey, and vampires, who are mostly well-behaved and disinclined to start trouble.
That’s why the Grey Brethren, a vampire syndicate, assign Regan O’Connell there. Regan is a Wolfe, a secret operative for the Brethren. Out-of-the-way Albuquerque is the perfect place for an operative whose diplomacy starts wars and who struggles with rudimentary magic.

This one was handed to me from the lovely SarahBella from our new New Author Review program. I’m not very far into it, but the first chapter had me hooked instantly and the heroine of the book is a very likeable, smart and snarky woman. If you like adventure I think you’ll enjoy this one and be on the lookout for my full review soon
Houded, book 1 in the Iron Druid series, by Kevin Hearne:
Tempe, Arizona is as far removed from paranormal activity as is possible. And that’s where Atticus O’Sullivan, rare book salesman, herb peddler, and 2,000 year old Druid – the last of his kind – has decided to set up shop. He’s been on the run, guarding a very powerful sword from a very angry ancient Celtic god for over two millennia now.

I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for gingers and I enjoy reading things from male authors every now and then. So, a story about a hot, immortal, red-headed Druid warrior? Yes please!.
Soul Born, by Kevin Breaux:
All Opal wanted was to be respected as a wielder of magic, but her teachers passed her over time and time again. When a mysterious warlord embarks on a conquest to destroy the lands of Illyia Opal seizes an opportunity to step out from the shadows of her instructors and take her rightful spot among them.To read the full synopsis and reviews, click here
This is a pretty fantastical world the author has built here and the characters are just so vivid. Plus, the author is one of the judges of our OF Contest! But seriously, if you’re a fantasy fanatic, you won’t regret picking this one up!

Hmmmm, all three sound interesting. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them. :) I love that you have more than one book on your nightstand/bookshelf at the moment. I’m always reading more than one book at a time and my husband just shakes his head in confusion on how I can do that and keep the stories straight. At least I’m not alone. ;)
