True Blood’s Soulful Fire

Dear truebies, if this past Sunday didn’t make you sit on the edge of your couch, I don’t know what would! As the A Team of vamps fights outside the Moon Goddess Emporium, inside, the Wiccans try to revolt AGAIN. Marnie flings a knife at Casey, killing her and causing the entire group to become
even more enraged and ready to fight to escape. Antonia removes herself from Marnie, claiming she doesn’t want to be part of the Mantonia team anymore due to the violence. Marnie binds Antonia to her via incantation, as Lafayette watches and explains the oddity to Sookie and Jesus.
As all of this is going on inside the Emporium, outside, Jason is trying to convince the vamps not to attack the building because Sookie is inside. Eventually, his “Rudy” speech
works, and the vamps find out the area around the building has a protection spell made out of sunlight so that they fry if they touch it. This part really got to me because it’s insulting to suggest that these vamps aren’t smart enough to even consider invisible obstacles around their target. Jason, the dipstick of the crew, throws an object and shows them the sunlight wall. Really?
Marnie finally decides to negotiate with the vamps, but her condition to letting Sookie go is to ask for Eric and Bill’s deaths in return. They both agree to kill themselves for Sookie’s freedom, Bill shooting Eric, then Pam shooting Bill. As they figure out the order of
who’s killing whom, Pam sends a rocket grenade towards the building, which not only rocks the block, but also fries Jason’s face off. No worries, though, cuz pretty-boy has Jessica’s blood to save his good looks.Neither Pam nor Jessica understand why their makers agree to save Sookie in return for their own lives, and eventually, this will be a thorn in both Eric and Bill’s sides. Season five conflict, anyone?
Marnie decides to use Casey’s pool of blood to look at the present and future, and isn’t pleased with what she sees about herself– gunshot in the noggin. She has the coven join hands and recite a spell that forces the vamps toward the sunlight wall, as Jason tries his
best to yell to Sookie telepathically. Sookie, in the coven’s circle, breaks the spell with her magic faerie light, but has to pay for it by standing in a ring of fire Marnie sets on her. All the while, Jesus and Lala are in the bathroom with Casey’s body trying to finish an unbinding spell, so that Antonia can leave Marnie’s body, and Marnie will lose most of her power. Being the brujo with the most, Jesus is able to break all of Marnie’s spells, save Sookie, and allow the vamps to storm the building. Eric and Bill have no mercy on either Marnie or her man-pet; Eric pulls out the guy’s heart, and drinks
from it like it’s a cold pina colada on a hot Mexican beach. Then, Bill shoots Marnie several times, including the head, making her vision come true. BUT THAT’S NOT THE END OF MARNIE!
Nope, she comes back for more by entering Lala’s body that night, and so we wait for the finale! Let’s not forget a few more storyline wrapping up:
Luna/Marcus/Sam/Debbie/Alcide: Sam and Alcide fight and kill Marcus while Debbie watches in her underwear. Alcide abjures Debbie (FINALLY!) and she’s all weepy.
Andy: As he’s walking home through the dark forest, he meets E.T. in a sexy woman form. I have an inkling that it might be a bad idea to hook up with a random fae, but we won’t know for sure until next season.
Can you believe the season’s almost over, fangbangers?
