TVD: Back to School and Back from the Grave
So, everyone gets geared up for the first day back to school, and everything is just how it should be…or, maybe not. Matt can see and speak to his dead sister, Bonnie and Jeremy are on the outs cuz he keeps contacting his dead ex’s, Stefan’s just a cold unfeeling jerk, and Michael just ain’t wanting to wake the heck up! I don’t know how any of this could get any worse!
Hmmm, spoke too soon I see. As usual, everything seems to revolve an upcoming party…this ones the annual bonfire. By the way, did I mention that the snooty witch spelled with a capital B – yes, Rebecca, is basically infiltrating everyone’s lives? No? Well…she’s moved in with Stefan and Damon, started school, even joined the squad! Looks like she’s after sinking her hooks into Tyler. Speaking of, he’s kinda being a bit of a pompous asshat, what with his new “gift” of being a hybrid!
Jeremy totally eavesdrops on Matt while talking to his sister, I know…this is weird! Then its like he didn’t see Vicki, only to go racing in to see Anna, and have her tell him that Vicki is surrounded by darkness, and basically not to let her cross over like how she’s trying to talk Matt into doing. We see a new and improved side of Elena, as she’s trying to get all badass with the working out, she’s got Alaric helping out, and we get a scene just filled with sexual tension so thick, you can almost taste it with her and Damon! He tells/shows her the easiest access point to a vampires heart. (I could show him the easiest way to my heart)
Anyways, we are at night now and the bonfire seems to be in full swing. All the group get together to come up with a plan to detain Stefan till after Michael kills Klaus and Rebecca, but they find out that Tyler is “sired” to Klaus, being that he had loyalty to him because he brought Tyler over. Meanwhile Matt seems to successfully bring Vicki back from the dead, who then states she has to kill Elena to keep up her end of the bargain. Then clubs Matt over the head when he tries to stop him, meanwhile Bonnie and Jeremy are still fighting, even though Jeremy thinks he’s helping by getting info…he doesn’t get why Bonnie is so upset. (I have to say, I don’t either…he’s trying to help, and Anna’s dead for goodness sake). Little do they realize though that they are too late to stop Matt.
Ok, so Rebecca totally spoils the flirt Damon by so rudely figuring out that he was trying to distract her, then stakes him. Elena is totally drunk, but manages to lure Stefan away from the party as planned, but falls while trying to convince him. He catches her, and they have a moment, right before he’s drugged with vervane by Alaric. All the while Tyler and Caroline talk and she tells him that he’s sired, and that he’s been acting like a total jerk…he apologizes and they end up kissing and making up. Matt calls Bonnie in a panic when he comes to and his sister is gone…but, Matt and Bonnie end up sending her back where she belongs, hopefully for good this time.
In the meantime, Elena is trapped in a burning vehicle (thanks to Vicki) and is unable to get out, even Alaric tries to help get her out but to no avail. Just when all seems lost, Elena is able to rouse Stefan out if his drugged stupor long enough for him to kick out a door, and Elena and Stefan make it out with help from Alaric, just before the vehicle explodes.
So, to end this episode, we have Rebecca showing up in Tyler’s house after Caroline leaves and they “dine” together on a poor helpless girl. Elena and Alaric talk and she tells him that Damon misses their friendship, Stefan interrupts and tells Elena she’s pathetic because she still hold good for him, but she tells him that it only makes her stronger, then stakes the bugger. Betchya that felt good! We then see Damon going around cleaning up the house when who shows up? Tyler’s uncle! Apparently back from the grave to settle the score!
Dun, dun, dun… Good episode all in all, can’t wait till next week to see what journey they take us on next! :)
