TVD: Stefan is REALLY evil this time!

Okay, seriously?! This epi was a-freaken-mazing!!!! I can’t even describe to you how good this was tonight…cliff hangers, twists and turns, deaths and resurrections! Incredible!
So, we start out the epi at the high school, all the kids are doing random pranks throughout the school, to be honest I don’t think we ever learned exactly why they do this, but whatever…its something new and fun right?
Anyways, Matt is working out, getting all sweaty and such in the school (yummy), when he hears something and gets all creepers out, so decides to check for whatever he thinks is out there. He goes into a room, sets off about a gazillion mouse traps and turns the lights on. He’s then reminded of what night it is, and is ropes into helping out. As Elena leaves the room they’re all in, she turns a corner and literally runs smack dab into the bad man himself, Klaus. Okay, people…let’s be honest; we all knew this moment was coming. Yet when it happens, it still kinda shocked me a bit.
Next we are shown a scene of Katherine and Damon driving in a car, supposedly on their way to play the rescuers that Damon so doesn’t want to be portrayed as. Katherine basically shoved her tongue in Damon’s mouth while they were driving but Damon totally plays her, and tells her that he’s not into her anymore. I gotta say, it was pretty awesome ;)
They pull over, Damon throws away the keys, and makes Katherine tell him what she’s really up to, and Damon discovers that Jeremy has been knocked out and stuffed into the trunk of the car by Katherine.
Meanwhile, back at the school Klaus and Rebecca are rounding up all the key people in Elena’s life: Bonnie, Caroline, Tyler, Matt, and a few others. Klaus gives them all an ultimatum, that Bonnie either finds a way for his hybrids to survive, or (as he is feeding Tyler his blood) Tyler dies a horrible, painful death…then breaks Tyler’s neck to start the whole turning process.
Bonnie and Matt start brainstorming, and they figure Jeremy is somehow the link they need because of his gift of seeing and talking with the dead, all the while Damon and Katherine are basically having the same convo. I’m really glad that they are actually going somewhere with this whole ghost thing, because to be honest, I really wasn’t getting how his seeing dead people was tying into the story :)
Back at Mystic Falls, Stefan enters the scene, and tries telling Klaus that he has no feelings left for Elena, and that he wants to prove his loyalty to Klaus. Stefan is then of course tested on this proclamation, and fails horribly, and ends up being compelled by Klaus to obey his every order from now on.
Jeremy comes to, and ends up contacting Anna for Damon and Katherine, to find out where they can find this “Michael” vampire, and Anna tells them that they are idiots to try and wake him.
Klaus gives Bonnie only 20 minutes to find a solution to his problem with the hybrids, and if she fails he has compelled Stefan to feed on Elena. This is all because Klaus and Rebecca have found out that Stefan lied to them about the whereabouts of the necklace as well, discovering that Elena had it the whole time.
Our poor, misunderstood Vicki is now trying to contact her brother Matt, and Matt being the smarty pants that he is, figures that if he drowns himself he should be able to communicate with her. Matt figures that Vicki may have an alternative to dealing with Klaus, where hopefully no one has to die. He plans ahead though and phones Bonnie to tell her about his plan, and asks her to come and bring him back with good ol’ fashioned CPR and mouth to mouth. So, he weighs himself down with chain and weights and jumps into the pool and drowns himself. As Bonnie is trying to desperately bring him back, he does in fact talk with Vicki, and she gives Matt a message for Bonnie. He then (thank goodness) comes to and spews out the water he swallowed.
Damon finds out that Bonnie has been texting him regarding Klaus, so he heads back to Mystic Falls, Katherine scoffs at Damon’s behavior, so Damon tells her she’s just po’d cuz he’d never do what he does for her. Man did that burn her biscuit! Oh, and Jeremy and Katherine continue on to find Michael.
Back at the gym, Stefan and Elena are trying to discuss the situation while the clock winds down closer, and closer to the deadline. Elena figures that Stefan should just fight the compulsion, and that she knows that he stop loves her and owes her for all he’s put her through. Stefan agrees that he owes her big time, but that he can’t stop once he starts, as that’s his nature as a ripper, and that if he gets a taste of Elena, he knows he’d never be able to stop.
A few rooms over Tyler awakens, and finds out what’s happened to him, and that he’s in the process of becoming a hybrid. He also learns that if Bonnie can’t find anything by the time the clock in the gym is up, he’ll more than likely die a very unsavory death.
After Matt is feeling better from his earlier resuscitation, he tells Bonnie the message from Vicki, but Klaus overhears him tell her that the reason the curse wasn’t broken, was in fact because the doppleganger still lived. So Bonnie and Matt start trying to brace themselves for Tyler’s eminent death. Because let’s be honest…who wants to lol Elena? I mean, it would only end everyone’s problems right? ;)
The clocks runs out in the gym, so Elena runs from Stefan, after seeing that he won’t be able to control himself easily. He does try though, by slamming himself into lockers to slow himself down…even staking himself with a broom handle, when he realizes how close he is to catching her. Klaus then shows up, and through more compulsion, makes Stefan turn off the part of him that is human then tests him by telling Stefan to feed on Elena. Klaus then finds Tyler and makes him drink Elena’s blood to see if that’s what the puzzle piece was and sure enough, Tyler makes it through the change and is now a hybrid.
Next we see Elena waking in a hospital with a nurse hovering over her. She tries to get up and leave, but the nurse lays her back down and tells her she’s lost too much blood and that she needs to rest. Turns out that Klaus has decided to farm her blood for his hybrids, now that he knows how to make them.
Damon shows up and confronts Klaus, acting like the hero he doesn’t want to be, and has a little tussel with Klaus then tells him that they’ve found Michael, and are releasing him to come after Klaus and Rebecca. Klaus skips out like his pants are on fire, and Damon swoops in to save Elena. See told you…HERO! Lol! (just don’t tell Damon)
Caroline and Tyler talk a little after the change and he reassured her that he feels fine, and in fact feels amazing and loves how he feels. Then they kiss and make up. (total tonsil hockey time)
Matt and Bonnie have a chat about how stupid and reckless Matt’s actions were earlier, and that there was a possibility that it wouldn’t have worked or he could’ve died. He agrees, but also says he’s glad he did it, cuz he was able to connect with Vicki. Bonnie says she’ll wait out in the vehicle to give him a few minutes for him to collect himself. Once bonnie is gone, Vicki shows up, speaks and Jeremy not only hears her, but can see her as well. Yay!, finally a somewhat happy ending for poor Matt…
Back at Damon’s house, he and Elena try to relax over a drink, and he offers to wipe Elena’s memories so its not so painful for her and gives her back the necklace. Elena declines saying she wants to remember everything about what happened, and then Stefan shows up like nothing is out of the ordinary. It is of course, cuz he has absolutely no human feelings left and is indifferent to Elena and Damon, and informs them both that he stayed behind on Klaus’ orders to keep an eye on them. We end the epi with Katherine and Jeremy, finding the tomb where Michael is, and has been since the 90′s when a powerful with entombed him.
Honestly, I have to say…bravo! This was in my opinion the best episode ever! We are finally seeing where some of the clues are heading, and some of the stuff that’s been happening (cue the “I see dead people” here). I’m really starting to think that it may finally be time for Damon to be happy and have a go at Elena…if of course she let’s him. I mean, yeah Damon is so totally not the knight in shining armor like Stefan was, but he’s always been true to his nature, never lied unless it was to protect, and he’s always done the things he’s done for the greater good…whether its apparent at that time or not. Okay, I have to admit that I do lean more towards Damon, I mean who doesn’t love the bad boy image right?
Anyways! In closing its like I said earlier, excellent job on this episode. Was a great plot, lots of action and suspense, kept you guessing as to what was going to happen next! And on that note, I will say adieu till the next episode…can’t wait! Pssst, is it Thursday yet? ;)
