Help a hungry family this Holiday Season
Is that time of year again.
No, I’m not talking about Christmas shopping time. I’m referring to the Team MVF Holiday Food Drive.
Last year, we were fortunate enough to raise over $1300 to help fight hunger in America thanks to the generous donations of our readers and supporters.
This year, we are setting a high goal of $1000.
2011 has been a very tough year for many people; it is difficult enough for families to put a good meal on the table even when they have two working parents. But sometimes, no matter how hard people try, they still have to go without meals. There are some families who don’t get to eat during the weekends because they aren’t in school.
These families rely on local food banks for help, but even food banks are suffering. With the budget issues, many food relief services are in jeopardy of being cut altogether. We can’t let this happen! At MVF, we want to do what we can to help make sure as many people get to have good, warm meals this holiday season.
This year, we have asked our favorite authors to donate a signed copy of one of their books for us to giveaway. We have a great list of authors who are contributing, enough to be able to give away a book each week!
Every week, we will take the names of everyone who has donated $10 or more and draw for a winner. The winner will receive one of our autographed books!
You can donate 1 of 3 ways:
- You can donate canned goods and non-perishables to your local food pantry. Send us a picture of yourself with your donation or a picture of your receipt to Myvampfiction2011@gmail.com
- Donate through your local grocer’s food pantry programs
- Donate directly through our MVF Paypal
We will draw each Sunday, for donations recieved by 11:59pm each Saturday night.
