The Vampire Diaries is currently on hiatus until the middle of March. In the meantime, we really need a fix. So, we are asking our writers to help the readers out! Here's what you do:
-Write an original one-shot story about any character from The Vampire Diaries. It can be based on the TV show or the books, it doesn't matter.
-There MUST be a vampire in the story. It doesn't matter which vampires, as long as they are present in the books or the TV show.
-The rating must stay R and under. No explicit sexual situations in this challenge.
-The story must be at least 2,000 words, but no more than 10,000 words.
-The story must say "The Vampire Diaries fan fiction challenge" in the story or chapter notes, so we know your submission is a challenge entry.
-The story must be submitted to the MVF Dungeon and meet the standard requirements. The story must go through the same validation process as all other submissions to the site.
-The story must be posted exclusively in the MVF Dungeon until 2 weeks after the winner of the challenge has been announced. At that time, you can post to other sites or make the story into a multi-chapter fic if you like.
Submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm on Tuesday, March 30th. On April 1st, we will allow readers to vote for their favorite. Voting will last until 11:59pm on April 8th. The winner will be announced on Friday, April 9th. This challenge will have only one category: Reader's Choice
What will the winner receive?
-Custom made banner for your story
-Replica of Victoria's necklace from The Twilight Saga: New Moon and a 2010 Twilight calendar. There will also be a couple of Vampire Diaries surprises as well.
-Featured story status at the MVF Dungeon for a full month.
-Author spotlight and interview with one of the MVF co-owners on the main MVF blog, to be posted no later than May 8th, 2010.
